anomaly with Oly EPM2 and 16 gig SD cards?

I noticed a block appears in some images. See below:

I thought a defective 16gig card was causing the image anomaly, so I went with an older 8gig. No issues.

So yesterday I bought a new 16gig card, and doggonit, it happened again. Does the EPM2 have issues with a 16gig, or is it something with my particular camera.

It doesn't happen often, but it did ruin a very good image last month.

I also lost some images with my 8gig, which was a bummer. It might have been my fault.

I would run a disk check on it in the computer, and if that passed I would reformat in camera.

I ran disc utility and it checked out. I reformatted it.

The first thing I did was format the card.

It's hard to believe it's a camera error that has only bitten you, but that sure looks like a processing bug. Have you confirmed that it looks that way both on the camera screen and with an external viewer? Very weird, though.

I guess I should preview them before uploading.

My first thought was the editing software, but it only happens with my 16gig cards.

My E-PM2 has a Lexar Platinum II 16Gb usually, but I have also used Patriot LX 32Gb without issues.

Both 16's are Sandisk. The 8's a PNY.

I'm going to fire off fifty quick images, then check to see if the problem is in the camera, or shows after uploading to my Photos app.

Are you shooting RAW or JPG? If JPG, try shooting RAW+JPG to compare, and you can then generate new JPGs from the RAWs in camera.

I only shoot RAW, but have generated JPGs in camera on occasion. I've yet to any corruption on SD cards in my mFT cameras, but have seen it in CF and SD cards on other formats, mostly compacts that corrupt the card when battery dies mid-shot.

Raw + Jpeg might be a good idea.
