A visit to England warning, many photos
12

Hello all
Just spent a wonderful 12 days in southern England .
Loved every moment ! [ except one ] . My EM-1 enjoyed
the weather as there are no blown highlights to deal with …..
So much different than Italy and here in Calif.
The 40-150 F2.8 is a wonder, even handheld in the dim light
of a church .
These are shots of London, Bath, Bristol, Salisbury and Wells .
If you like please re process and see if they can be improved [ the can ] .

Glad you enjoyed it. Have you read The Art of Photography? It features a good deal of Wells Cathedral, with a big piece on the Chapterhouse stairs and the author's experience shooting other English Cathedrals.

Good set Ken. You got around and visited some great locations. The London Eye image is my favourite. Over recent years I've visited all but Bristol in your list - see my Flickr Albums for a closer look.

Ken, that shot of he Albert Memorial is simply the best…

…the best I have ever seen of this thing. Wonderful. Beautifully seen and beautifully captured.

Bath -- been there, done that, but clearly I don't get the t-shirt -- you do! I photographed that wonderful weir (with my Rollei and Agfachrome 120 roll film) in 1974 (r was it '75?) but I didn't get out at night to see it, did I? (Or maybe they hadn't invented electric light back then :)).

Salisbury -- yep, saw that too and photographed it, but not as well as you did. Great work.

The warning should be you can starve to death with the food over there. I was there in 93 and thank God they had a McDonald's in London.

How can you say that when there's a Pasty Presto in one of the shots?!

Thanks for the pictures of Bath; the city where I grew up.

I see from your pictures that Wells knocked you out.

Great shots! Some of my favorite places! Glad you had a good time.

You'll be interested to know that a photo like this one sold for $233,000 recently! (But it was taken 122 years ago!)

Would this be better with a little shadow lifting?

I'm thinking if the Albert memorial has a bit more details in the shadow, it would bring out a nicer tranquil mood.

Beautiful collection!! Thanks for sharing, makes me want to visit Bath one day.

OK Hen3ry here you go, but these shots were taken

way after sunset in dim light, nice anyway .
