This lens makes a compact camera from my NX30 so I use it mainly for occasional pictures.

What is that first picture? It's a good picture but I have no idea what it is, a rift in the space-time continuum?

So my intention to take picture of normal thing and get a picture that nobody  knows what is it

- is succesful:)

It is a fountain in my city - I could take such picture only with this lens because longer FL requires further distance and then iwe get concret fence between caemera and object so the same effect is impossible.

From the other side shorter FL can cause a camera bath in fountain water:)

There are situations that MTF sharpness are not the most important. The right FL is the key.

But IMO 16/F2,4 is quite good if it is good copy. I am very glad from mine.

16mm lens distortion

I read about this lens that it has quite a notable barrel distortion. Do you correct it with in camera correction or in the post processing?

I use RAW only so always post processing.

Using jpg or RAW + jpg is useless - if even you use RAW you can watch embededed jpg using Irfan View and from NX it is 20 full resolution jpg.

(LX7 embedded jpg has 2 MP only)

But about corrections...it can be Lightroom  does a correction automatically? I do not know.

For sure it does with LX-7 compact camera.

The same file opened in Raw Therapy had wider angle of view and more deformations.

I did not check 16/f2,4 yet in RT. Frankly speaking I do not care - todays lens nearly all are corrected in PP - mostly in MFT system.

The reasons of using 16/2,4 are small size and angle of view of course.

Look that for presentation on Tv-set purposes where aspect ratio is 16:9 we need crop the picture if we want to have Full screen filled up from 3:2 to 16:9.

(This is als cons for me about 4/3 sensor)

This picture could not be taken i.e by 30/F2 because of the object between camera and the car (not visible from this perspective of course) or this picture could be taken but in cropped car version.

I use this lens full open in 90% cases I like the results.

For the 16mm lens Distortion Correction is greyed out and defaults to ON for raw. LR applies the Distortion Correction camera info automatically. Some other software may not; I do know that FastStone does not. I use that sometimes to get the full uncorrected width to work with.

Other lenses may give you the option of turning it OFF in the Menu, e.g. the 30mm. With the 30mm I usually have it set to OFF in camera.
