Galaxy NX back in stock at B&H

It used to be marked as "discontinued" for several months, but it is now back in stock at B&H Photo Video.

I do not know what to make out of this in the light of the recent rumors of the Samsung NX line getting cancelled.

Is this an attempt to sell out as much of the inventory as possible at a discount before closing out? But the price at $1199 (with the 18-55 kit lens) does not seem to confirm this.

Or is it a re-affirmation of Samsung's intent to continue the NX line?

I really don't know.

It is $549 brand new today too at b&h.  I have always wanted to try it being a gadget guru and am tempted for sure.  Should I go for it?  I am not a pixel peeper so the older sensor is no big deal.

I don't see it listed at $549 now.

I see the Kit with the 18-55mm listed at $1199 just as before. I see the body-only as "No longer available."

Maybe they made a mistake which was quickly corrected?

Newegg had the kit re-furbished twice for $549 couple of months ago, but it quickly sold out each time.

I'm very happy with my 2 Galaxy NXs.

It wasn't a price mistake; it was their daily special. They run from midnight to 11:59 PM Eastern time or until they sell out. After that it's back to normal price.

I have had this camera and actually prefer this older sensor over the new one.  It is very slow in operation, but with excellent IQ.  It's body fits the 16-50 F2-2.8 lens perfectly.  If you have some patience, you'll get great results.

I can't say I prefer the sensor to the NX1/NX500 sensor but I find the body much better in certain ways. I've said this before in previous Galaxy NX threads; it's my camera of choice when I want to shoot manual focus lenses thanks to focus peaking that's on all the time. It was a good deal at $549.

I really don't know.

Just because a supplier has discontinued it doesn't mean that the manufacturer has.

I'm pretty sure that Samsung's business decisions are not made by B&H.

In Europe, price of Galaxy NX (with 18-55) changed (within 18 months) from €1500 to €500

Re: Galaxy NX back in stock at B&H

I would think just about very camera ever made has had a panic posting, well before its actual demise, by someone assuming it has been cancelled by the producer just because B&H have discontinued it as one of their stock items.

It's no longer listed at Adorama, only available form third parties on Amazon for months, and hasn't been available for months at the Samsung.com shop. It's been discontinued.

That's again a wrong statement:

Re: Galaxy NX back in stock at B&H

It's incredible how much the galaxy NX has depreciated - a few weeks ago I saw a new one for sale privately for £240. Would have snapped it up if I didn't already own one!

You provide 1 example and I provide multiple and I'm the one that's wrong??? Believe what you want. I'll stand by what I said until you or someone else proves me wrong. And that hasn't happened.

Todd

It is a great camera with some lovely features. I used it non stop for 6 months while travelling . Add a 64GB card and you are set. I used it for my boarding passes, reading /movies/ taking pictures ( 20mb), editing and uploading to all outlets.I love the gps especially when working with lightroom. A well featured camera in my opinion.

Here is the output from it with mostly the kit lens that came with it.
