Hey guys,
a few days ago, I shot some (2784) photos at a marathon in my hometown. When I was riding my bike from one point to another I dropped my E-M1 with the 40-150 PRO attached (and a monopod). It was kind of a hard fall because it fell 2 meter (6.5 feet) at a speed of about 15km/h (10 miles/h). The lens hood hit the ground first and kind of softened the fall. (This is not the first time I dropped it and I can only say that everyone should attach the hood onto the 40-150 Pro, if only as a airbag). It didn't look damaged (despite the crooked lens hood, but you can easily repair it yourself) so I continued and took some great photos. All photos I took seemed sharp and detailed. Even the "product photos" I took today for stuff I want to sell online are very sharp and detailed.
When I then detached the 40-150 Pro to take some test shots with the 100-300 (thats one of the things Im selling), the lens came of oddly tough. Attaching the 100-300 seemed to be harder then it used to. After taking the shots I took of the 100-300 and looked more closely on the mount. And there it was. It is warped. At least it seems so.
Now I have some good experience with the European Olympus service. Just a few month ago I wrenched off one of the strap holders while I was in the Spanish desert. I didn't released it until I came back with a very dirty (with very small particles of sand etc.) and scratched E-M1. I send it to Olympus and they not only replaced the strap holder, but cleaned it (I guess that was needed for repairing), and replaced all the scratched parts. They even replaced the flash mount (it was normally scratched due to flashes being put in and out).
While writing this text I kind of know I have to send it in. Not only because I cannot be 100% sure if it has any influence on the camera or may have in the future, but also because of the resell value. Still, I will post it as you guys may be interested in it
(by the way, its my first post, so: Hello World :D)
(and sorry for the image quality, as I couldn't make photos of my E-M1 with my E-M1 I had to take my phone)
