Blurred images with 70-200 f4IS..

I was shooting this with a Canon 70-200 f4IS on a 5DII. As you can probably tell from the EXIF, the shutter speeds were pretty fast. I must have shot close to 30-50 images, and most of them are blurred. The lens seems to work well otherwise, so I am puzzled why this happened. Any ideas?

Thanks..

Is that restricted to specific FLs? Turn the IS off and try with fast enough speed, handheld.

I see a clear upside-down blur. Very unlikely to be some kind of shake at that speed unless it is a defective IS. It might be decentered. But then it should be consistently soft at the same shutter FL and aperture...

Are you sure the IS is in fact working? Mine makes quite a noise when the IS kicks in, which I was told by members here that it was usual. Worth checking.

Wow--that is incredibly bad! It almost looks like massive vertical motion blur. Your shutter speed is fast enough so that even if the IS isn't working and you are shooting from a rickety ladder it should look better than this. Your aperture is also O.K. I don't know your work, but I assume you are advanced enough to know how to focus and handle your camera.

I would do the newspaper on the wall test STAT. Something is seriously wrong with your camera or a lens element has been knocked out of alignment. Remove any filters and also test with and without IS on.
