Lighting in Marquee for Wedding?

assisted few photographers in weddings but they were in hall where bounce flashed worked fine.

I have started independently and a client booked me for a wedding that is in marquee. I have attached a marquee's photo.

Kindly guide me if bounce flash will work here.

if not then will one or two umbrellas with flash light will be enough? Which umbrellas would work?

D600 |nikon vr 24-85 3.5-4.5 | 70-200 2.8 NIKON | Two flashes and wireless trigger

Its a night event

Looks pretty good. Plenty of light for daytime, and decent bouncing for night. I see you have two flashes. Good, you'll need them both. Along with a high ISO.

What type of photos are you planning to take i.e. walking around, capturing small groups and individuals? Speaker?

Umbrellas would need to be pre-positioned and hence would be effective only at specific areas.

You may need a faster wide lens as well - f3/5 maybe too slow.

Is the ceiling made of transparent stuff? That will reduce the effectiveness of bounce. You may want to think about a small diffuser and a fast lens to get a good effective.

My guess is that with the f2.8 lens, you will have a very compelling low light package.

You may want to get something like a Rogue flash bender and point the flash straight up. The Flash bender will send some light forward to light up the eyes and you will probably get enough bounced fill as well. Check the ISO and maybe bump that up to 800 or 1600 (dont know Nikon sensor very well) and that would be more than sufficient.

One thing you may need to consider is gelling your flashes to match the tungsten lighting.

Thing to keep in mind is what is being photographed and where.

In this case, there seems to a be a set aside dance area so you know that need the light right here. Umbrella will work well there. Note you will need battery packs for the flashes I would imagine.

If on the other hand you have a situation where  you do not have a fixed area, you need to have the speedlite on your camera - and if possible, bounce up or to the side. However, if you cannot bounce, just do straight flash. Many people have the flash mounted on a bracket to separate it a bit from the lens position (and avoid red eye) but even straight flash should be ok.

Do you have a full frame camera and fast lens? That would do a pretty decent job of grabbing a good amount of light as it can so you need just a hint of flash.

Hope that helps.
