Awesome features for beginner

This is my first DSLR and I'm already in love with it. I'm more into landscape and portraits, camera and my lenses help me at their fullest. I'm still getting used to its features, learning what it can give me. So far, it is nothing but awesome.

Re: Awesome features for beginner

Welcome,  Sachira,

to this forum.     I see this is your 1st post, here.

Lots of friendly, helpful people frequent this forum.   One of those is Wilba, who has a FAQ that he has put together to answer questions.   Rebel Talk FAQ    He has helped many here.

I have the Canon 55-250 STM lens and I've happy with it.  I see you have the 24mm STM lens.

Would you post some images you've taken with this lens ?  What are your impressions about it ?

Thanks,

Mike

Nice to hear you're liking the new camera!

I've been thinking of getting a new camera body and upgrading to a 70D, but i did recently play about with a 760D/8000D and actually features-wise and feel of it it did make me question if this is actually suitable enough for me without going up to the 70, so it's interesting to hear your good remarks.

Re: Awesome features for beginner

When I bought my 760D, I also bought 70D as a present. I was able to try it few times, one feature I noticed in 70D is HDR and it's kind of flagship. But I don't have enough knowledge to compare these side by side. Reason I bought 70D as present because he had 600D earlier. Only reason I bought 760D is I'm very new to photography and wanted to do it old style, from beginning. I read few comparisons online and all said 70D is better.

I really like my 24mm.  I attached two pics I took, one short range and one long expo. Since I'm beginner, I don't have much understanding to give proper review. I may be able to write a review after sometime. Overall, lens focus speed is good, I like the bokeh, I think it'd do awesome in good hands.

Nice. I think you'll find the 760 more than capable for your needs, my 650D has served me well.

I was thinking today "why should i get the 70D when i comes to replace my 650D when the 760D is looking as capable" and then i remembered something - the 70D has weather sealing and the 760 doesn't.

Ahh, yes, that I forgot. Weather sealing is a factor as well. And there's 880 pics per one charge and 8000 shutter speed on 70D. While using 760D, I'm telling you what's good in 70D.
