Re: Bali (street) -- good work, thin

For composition, I would have liked to see more space on the right in the photog and sunset pic -- that is, in the direction his camera was pointing.

In the 4th pic, the cock fighting pic, it would have been good to have the cocks in the center of the square -- but I appreciate the fact that the action is very fast and it is easy for me to sit here on at my desk and criticize! I would suggest burst mode is our friend in such a situation.

Hi

I like them, especially the waterfall with the girl. I do think some gentle PP could improve the overall look. Did you do any or are these SOOC JPEG's?

Re: Bali (street) -- good work, thin

Hello Henry,

Thx for the Ver useful feedback.

I got the composition of the photographer pic completely wrong, because i was trying hard to keep my feet dry.  This pic is already rotated to bring the horizon level and cropped on the top and the bottom, to maximalise the effect you are suggesting.  I also tried a landscape crop, but that didn't work in my oppinion.

I took the shot because the wave surprised them.  These scene was a great contrast to the tourist trap he is photographing.

Good hint for the cock fight.  I selected this one for its best overall composition.  I will check the other pics for focus on the central subject.  Maybe i can crop some large heads out of the foreground of other pics to improve the composition.

Re: Bali (street)

Hello,

No post processing, only some cropping on the first one.

i don't have the time for it.  No experience and knowledge also.  I tried some ipad apps, but they give overcooked results, and it is to much struggle to get the pictures imported and exported on the ipad.

With 6 computers in our home i am banned to the oldest one that runs on linux to improve speed...  For uploading to dpr, i have to beg the kids for their macbook :-).

good software recommendations for linux (photo mgr and post) are welcome.
