EX1 firmware

Hi,

I have an EX1 with original firmware. I was considering installing the update if still available, but the last time I read the latest firmware made the camera inoperable. Does anyone know the most recent firmware that does not brick the camera?

I like the camera, but am getting frustrated by its slow operation, hopefully a firmware upgrade will speed it up.

Re: EX1 firmware

I don't recall anybody reporting that updating the firmware made the EX1 any faster to use. It is a slow camera, but makes up for that in so many ways.

It is slow with RAW, because the RAW files are not compressed, which is, of course, better.

Thanks very much for the reply, I remember reading somewhere that one of the firmware updates sped up operation, but maybe I'm wrong..  If not, then I don't think it's worth risking the camera for only minor improvements.  I still like the camera very much, my only minor gripe is that it can be a little slow sometimes end can miss shots.

Re: EX1 firmware

My EX1 froze in the middle of a firmware update and had to go back to Korea under warranty. I think the factory then installed the update that I had been trying, and I haven't been tempted since.

I like the camera too. My only problem has been that it tends to over expose.

I can't say that I have had that problem. I do tend to keep the exposure compensation set on -1/3 stop for most of my shots.

For landscape shots and similar, I expose for the sky, and pull out the shadow detail in the RAW processing.

Examples here .
