NX500 features

So i have just upgraded from NX300 to the new NX500 and have noticed that there are a few things missing feature wise compared to the old camera. Of course it has new ones but i was wondering that seeing its running tizen if some features can be ported across from one to the other. Or even a different Tizen camera. I'm not to familiar with how they have set up these cameras but it would be cool if you could install apps that other people can make.

Things like macro and best face are missing.

I just purchased the nx300, not knowing the nx500 exists.  How do you like the upgrade? Do you feel that the nx300 satisfied your shooting needs or is the nx500 noticeably better?

Re: NX500 features

The NX300 is a very good camera. I received mine on the 2nd day it was stocked on the shelves and have taken some great photos with it and I was very happy. The NX500 has slightly easier to use software and connectivity and pictures are a little clearer but haven't done side by side test yet using the same lens.
Haven't used it enough to say it's a lot better performance wise. I like the design and feel of the NX300 better though.

Re: NX500 features

Is there any way you can return it? Did the advertising mention 'latest tech' or 'new design' or 'highest quality' or anything else that should have been updated to avoid being misleading?

Re: NX500 features

I bought the nx500 and returned it because :

If you save 1080@50p and UHD@25p as custom modes.

And choose for example 1080@50p take  a video and then you want to change to UHD option and when you do that  all settings changes except the video is still 1080@50p.

Is there a :doh!: face available here? Seriously man?

Yes I'm serious.

I bought nx500 mostly for video and the possibility to save many different Custom modes.

when you switching between  several custom modes you want these settings that you have stored to be in use and not have to change anything thats the hole point with storing anything in memory.

But the video resolution don't change, everything else does, so you end up with wrong settings for the video.

And I returned it because of that problem and had the possibility do get all my money back.

Thanks for the info.  I'm also really enjoying the nx300.  I guess before I got into photography, I was thinking I could taking awesome photos without post processing, but I realized soon after that post processing is a must.

I'm really enjoying the sharpness and clarity of the nx300, but the shopaholic in me sometimes makes me want the latest and greatest.
