Crikey! Need your help - My G11 no longer powers on!

I have a Canon Powershot G11 that I have been using for years. It has been well taken care of, never abused, but I am encountering a problem where the camera no longer powers on.

I bought new batteries for it, but that did not fix the problem. I also made sure the battery contacts are clean, and that there is no debris that would prevent the contacts from hitting the battery. I also made sure all the contact points for the battery door are still good (depressing the little switches) but that did not work either. Removing and/or reinstalling new memory cards did nothing as well.

One day the camera working perfectly, the next it wasn't. Nothing out of the ordinary happened to the camera... I went to turn it on and the camera is just flat out dead.

I'm pretty handy with electronics, so I don't mind trying to repair this myself if the parts are available... I just don't know what parts could be bad or how to diagnose the issue with my camera in order to begin fixing it.

Does anyone have any ideas on what might be wrong with my camera or steps I can take to narrow down the issue, short of taking it to a camera repair shop? Thank you!

You said you are pretty handy with electronics maybe you want to check if the power-on switch is ok first. I would open it up and find something that I can measure if voltage is present. Be very careful though because the components in this thing are tiny. Here is a brief instruction on how to disassemble a G11. Don't go beyond step 6 because you don't want to do anything with the sensor.
