70-200 F4 IS lens collar with arcaswiss mount.

I've been looking for a (replacement) lens collar with arcaswiss plate included.

No luck so far. anyone know of such a lens-collar? for nikon they are there which limits searching through google.

thanks,

Mark

Apparently so... I checked the two usual suspects, Really Right Stuff and Sunwayfoto, and didn't find anything.

Is there any reason why you aren't considering a regular plate to attach directly to the OEM collar?

Less is moreĀ  all small bits end up weighing down the bag. so to move plate on top of a plate ... well seems unnecessary, also a little less stable?

It's a little more weight, that's true... but a good plate from Really Right Stuff, Wimberley, etc isn't going to compromise on stability.

then why even use a collar?

its not really needed on that lens especially if you have an L bracket on your camera.

No, of course it isn't and you can make up a cheap lens ring/arca plate combo for pennies on ebay

Glue it together if you want fewer parts

Re: then why even use a collar?

I will use it on a sony with metabones so getting a collar is a good idea I think.

I know I can do without, but in theory it will be less prone to vibrations... also adding an extender in the mix will make this a wonky setup :-P.

I think I found something on amazon where you can unscrew the plate from the collar.

strange to see that they make it for nikon and not for canon.

I will see how far the nikon version will take me. I still have it... still i'd prefer a dedicated one.

thanks guys.
