New XF 90mm F/2 on Fuji XPro-1 - OVF not accessible ?

Just went to B&H yesterday to try out the new (ish) 16mm and the 90mm, I was disappointed that the OVF did not want to turn on with the 90, I do realize that the bright lines would be quite small, but I can live with that.

At first, I thought it was because I had to update the firmware of my Xpro, but doing some research afterwards, it seems that fuji blocked the bright frames at 60mm (visible with the Zoom Lenses apparently). And there hasn't been any firmware upgrade on the Xpro past 3.4 which was released way before the 90mm.

Does anybody has information about this topic ? Is it reasonable to expect "kaizen" to the point of allowing OVF on the Xpro with a firmware upgrade ? Why would they limit it in such manner, since there's the EVF no matter, how would it hurt the camera to let the OVF on especially since the lens does not block the view that much, I bet it would be quite usable ?

I doubt that Fuji will update the firmware to let the 90 mm to work in the OVF mode. Fuji did not allowed it on purpose.

They don't operate at more than 60mm. You may think you could use the OVF at 90mm but you couldn't. Focus would at best be hit and miss and if you were using the lens at f2 then as a user of the 90mm with both XP1 and XT1, I can tell you that at f2 you need to be very very accurate indeed or it will notice. The transition from ultra sharp to ultra smooth oof is swift though smooth so any error in focus will be very evident.

The sky is full of holes that let the rain get in, the holes are very small - that's why the rain is thin.

I can see the lens physically blocking a lot of the OVF so I doubt it would be very useful.
