Keep it neat and tidy

There seem to be a number of new threads about 'what next?'.
So here is mine. I have an NX20 which I enjoy. When it came out there were comments that it was competent but not innovative.
Why does a new model have to be innovative? With the 16-50mm f3.5/5.6 it produces good sharp images, exposed well with good DR. Plus it is neat in size. I can carry it easily in a waist bag.
Since that model with a viewfinder, recent models have just got bigger. How about an updated NX20. There is lots of noise about video, and this seems in part to be driving what appears in new camera models (not just Samsung). I notice in a recent DPR survey of what people want in their cameras, video was not high up the list.
Almost all current cameras of all brands produce good images. At least adequate for the day to day production of photos. I don't see the inclusion of more and more bells and whistles as being progress, but just a means of catering to consumers who want the next thing.
Like many others I may want to play with a new model, but I probably don't need it. I want my cameras to produce images. The end result is the main thing, but the journey of getting there can also be lots of fun.

Maybe there is too much want and not enough need?

You have that trouble too. My trouble is the keys always seem to move just when I go to hit one, another gets in the way.

I would like Samsung to produce an up to date model which is small with a viewfinder. Now that their cameras are starting to be noticed more, I think it could be a good seller.
