Mystery object on my NX20 sensor

I really like my NX20, but I noticed a strange dark little shadow on the bottom edge of my images just recently.

Sure enough when I scrutinised the sensor I could see a strange straight edged little object encroaching onto the sensor. I tried gingerly picking at this with some plastic tweezers but it seems stuck. Anyone know whats going on here?

Hard to tell for certain, but it looks like adhesive. I think Samsung uses an opaque black tape around the "mirror box" and yours may have peeled off a bit. The reason is to make it so that there isn't any light bouncing around that didn't land on the sensor.

Since it's not on the sensor, pull harder? And think happy thoughts?

Re: Mystery object on my NX20 sensor

Oh and I accidentally posted a massively underexposed photo (in the Sony forum by mistake) the very same day you came to dpreview, what a coincidence

Here it is as a tribute to the nx20 , and no it is nothing wrong on the sensor, it is just very underexposed by purpose, in camera jpeg no post processing.

sorry, my english sucks!

Thanks for your suggestions ttbek and otto k. I will scrutinise the object a bit more closely. I now also have the contact details for samsung service here in UK (but repairs on cameras are rarely cost effective out of guarantee).

Re: Mystery object on my NX20 sensor

Well I had another look at teh object and with a bit of careful tweaking with a pair of plastic tweezersa it actually came off. Seems like some sort of extraneous object - a small black square of stiff stuff - that got a bit caught up in the shutter.
camera seems ok.
Fingers crossed...
