How do you use AEL on NX300M?

Hey, I can't find any info on this for the NX300M. I have assigned AEL to the delete button in the keymapping settings, then I tried to follow this guide here for an NX10:

http://samsungcamera.com/nx10-can-create-a-panoramic-photo/

Using the method of locking the exposure and keeping the shutter button half pressed does nothing for me. After I take the photo everything is reset, so what is the purpose of this button?! Am I supposed to aim the camera at a specific point between each shot and lock the exposure before each frame? That kind of defeats the purpose if the sun goes behind a cloud or something.

So what am I missing here? How do I keep the exposure the same between shots so I can create an even panorama?

Thanks.
