MFT speedbooster question (Anyone used it with the Sigma 30 F1.4 DC HSM?)

Just curious if anyone has used a MFT speedbooster with the 1st generation Sigma 30mm F1.4 DC HSM lens? The lens should work perfectly with a MFT Speedbooser (approx 43mm FOV) but just wanted to make certain that there wasn't something else I didn't consider before purchasing the SB. If anyone might have some experience with this combo, i'd very much appreciate your input.

Well, the Sigma 30 is really not a sharp lens wide open, so you will need to stop down to get decent sharpness, and it is also pretty massive. For the price of the speedbooster, you could get a Panasonic Leica 25 1.4 for micro 4/3, which is much smaller and lighter, and also much sharper, and has snappy autofocus.

Well, that wasn't really my question but thank you. I've had the Sigma 30mm F1.4 for about 6 years and my copy is bad ass wide open. I used the 30mm F1.4 for a wedding photography business for 5 years.  You can't believe everything you read as i've owned and/or used about every canon ef prime made. Sigma does have issues they have to do more with quality checks than it does the actual design. My 30mm arrived back focusing but after raising hell about it and sending it back to Sigma, along with my 1DMII body at the time, it arrived spot on and very shap at 1.4

I'm also fully aware of the Panasonic 25 F1.4.  Since you mentioned it also, and In addition, there is a a China MFT speedbooster for $120. My e mount speedbooster came also from China for more than 1/4 price of the metabones with 99% of the optical quality to my eyes.

I tried the FD to MFT Metabones Speedbooster with the FD 28mm F2.8 lens, and mentioned in the forum that I go pretty poor results. Brian Caldwell, the optical designer behind the MEtabones, responded with the comment that since the FD lens wasn't very good on its won, it wasn't going to do much better with the speedbooster.

The same likely applies to your Sigma.

BTW I get excellent results with the Metabones speedbooster and the following Canon FD lenses: 50mmF1.4, 85mmF1.8, 100mmF2.8, 135mm F2.5, 200mm F2.8, 400mm F4.5.
