Sigma 100-300 EX F/4 replacement for Canon FF

Thanks for all comments and suggestions.

I ended up ordering the 100-400 II, hopefully it'll arrive in a couple of days. The rationale behind this is that it's newer lens and from what you've written and from what I've seen in sample photos it appear to be a bit better. Also, good quality 300-400mm appears to be quite hard to come by while the 70-100 is more of a commodity. As some of you mentioned, if I managed the weight of the Sigma I might as well handle Canon (I better  )

R.I.P. Sigma 100-300, surely I will have some fond memories of you... When I browsed the image archive I found these... I hope the new Canon will do even better 

Does it still do well on your 7D with the smaller image circle?  If so you should sell the 100-300/4. Be up front about it not doing as well on FF and I'll bet you'll still get a few hundred for it.

Yes it is more consistent on the 7D but 1:1 center crops show up much sharper on the 6D. I wonder if I'm going to notice less difference with the Canon 100-400 II as the dense sensor of the 7D probably benefits from sharper optics? Anyhow, 400mm on crop is going to awesome 

I might as well sell the Sigma and be honest about it as you say.

Before the 100-400 II came out, I might have bought your Siggy, but now I'm craving the II.
