Upgrading from the E-PM2. Where do I go?

Hey all, so I've been using the mighty but miniature E-PM2 for quite some time alongside the 25 1.8, 45 1.8 as well as the Sigma 19 2.8. The images that I capture are quite fantastic but I'm realizing how much I want a body that has a bit more control and functionality as opposed to the E-PM2.

Right now I am considering EM10 or possibly the EP5 kit. I know that the EP5 is much older and the same sensor technology but I like the looks better in addition to receiving the 17 1.8 and VF4 which I could use on both cameras.

The EM5 Mark ii is in my mind but I don't really want to go that high as I can get the EP5 combo for a better price than that.

Thoughts? Those that have owned/used both? Thanks!

My vote goes for E-P5!

I started this thread a while back. Have a look at my take on the two cameras as well as the ones of those that replied.

Re: Upgrading from the E-PM2. Where do I go?

FWIW: I've been using my E-PM1 and today I just ordered myself an E-M10 as there's only 24hrs left on the $200 off sale (putting an M10 body at $450!). I've been utterly frustrated with the poor AF, cruddy ISO, and lack of external controls on the PM-1 despite it performing well elsewhere. While this sale is on, it's hard to find a better deal, IMO.

Right now, the E-M10 is on sale and even when it's not, it's still a better deal in both features and price. The only advantage the EP-5 has, is 5-axis IBIS over the E-M10's 3-axis IBIS, and with the small lenses you are using, you won't know the difference.

Also, you can use the 17mm on both but not the VF-4; the VF-4 requires an accessory port which the E-M10 does not have. Of course, the E-M10 has an excellent EVF built-in.

The EM5 Mark ii is in my mind but I don't really want to go that high as I can get the EP5 combo for a better price than that.

You could get the E-M10 with the 17mm f/1.8 for less than either.

I own an E-M10 with the 12mm f/2.0, 17mm f/1.8, 45mm f/1.8, Rokinon 7.5mm f/3.5FE, and the 12-40mm f/2.8 Pro that I don't use that often anymore.

I just sold my EPL-5 kit and VF-4 today. I bought the EPL-5 as a back-up for my E-M10 and as a camera I could use with any of my primes and stick it in my pocket. Add the VF-4 into the mix and the EPL-5 is now taller than the E-M10 and not pocketable unless I carry the VF-4 separately or just leave it at home.
