is GH4 worth $900 more than G7?

Oncoming Panasonic G7 is almost half the price of GH4.  It seem that it share many same feature and also some new one.  What is the point getting GH4 if I am in the market buying a video camera.

With G7 entering the market, Panasonic moved the videocapability up and now it is at a completely new again untouchable level. But the FW needs to be upgraded to Vlog (it isn't there yet).

So GH4 is now squarely aiming at enthusiast moveimakers, semipro's and I think even pro vid shooters. Smart move!

The GH4 does have better full HD modes with higher bit rates and is better built with weather sealing. Definitely a more pro model but the G7 is very full featured in its own right.

Oh, of course the GH4 has cinema 4K as well as UHD "4K" video.

According to my crystal ball, all will be revealed when the G7 makes an appearance.  Crystal ball also advises those interested to not hold their breath...Panasonic takes a long time to materialize.

It's not $900 difference if you shop around and are not in a hurry. Besides things mentioned by others, such as weather-protection, there is no recording time limit on the GH4 - I don't know if the G7 has one or not, but the FZ1000 does. So, with the grip and a second battery one can get six hours or more of unattended recording. This is an important issue to some people, such as myself, especially since the batteries are huge, and those moving up from a GH3 can use the same weather-protected grip and batteries. It's one reason I didn't sell my GH3.
