Say hello to my little friend...
8

While working on our table outside, this little critter (maybe half a centimeter in length?) wandered over to check me out. I had to run inside and grab my camera: seemed a perfect opportunity for some macro shots. He stayed still just long enough to grab a few, then scurried off into hiding.

Macro taken with Raynox DCR-150 on a Panasonic 100-300, Panasonic G6. I stopped down as much as seemed reasonable, but even at f10, the focal plane was pretty narrow.

Ha! I had enough trouble getting a useful focal plane with this one, I'd hate to try something even tighter.

Great shots, thanks for sharing.  I was expecting something else from the subject, that phrase is from a movie, but not actually little at all.

Glad you liked the pictures.

I know it's from a movie: I figured I'd try an ambiguous title to get more people to view it. Seems to have worked!

Great images!

I own the raynox also paired with 40-150... But achiving anything near yours requires image stabilization for handheld. Which also my GM1 is lacking!

Did you get this handheld ?

Yes, this was taken handheld (the 100-300 has IS), but it was part of "focus sweeps", where I took a sequences of shots moving through focus, and picked the best one.

The depth of field was tight, and this wasn't even quite where I wanted it.
