You don't need to connect your camera to computer in order to check shutter count It's available in your camera.

Step 1: Turn your camera ON.

Step 2: Press Picture Preview button to view the captured images on camera's LCD.

Step 3: Now look at the LCD. When an image is shown on LCD, the shutter count can be seen on TOP RIGHT CORNER (see attached image)

Don't worry about 100. It's always there. That 6155 is the actual SHUTTER COUNT till now.

Hope it helps!

That count is resettable. So not really that accurate. I don't believe there is any legit way to find out shutter count on these cameras. Keep shooting.

I hope you don't buy Canon cameras from Ebay based on the shutter counter from that website. 1D II and 1Ds II were the last cameras from Canon with shutter count in the image file.

You have some software here http://kameratrollet.se/2012/09/08/dagens-sokmotorfraga-kolla-antalet-exponeringar-pa-en-canon/

Seems Magic Lantern still doesn't have shutter count support for 1200D.

Sorry, but that is NOT the shutter count of the camera. It is the number of the photographs stored in the folder associated with the memory card. Change the memory card for one out of another Canon DSLR and you will notice a different folder number for any images taken on the other camera. That number can be reset from the menu. The shutter count can not be reset, except by Canon and they would only do it if the shutter was replaced. This software program works on the majority of Canon DSLR's for finding the shutter count Farooq Abbas Saim....

The information you were given by the first reply was incorrect racznack. The number shown on the LCD screen is NOT the shutter count of the camera. It is the number of the photographs stored in the folder associated with the memory card. Change the memory card for one out of another Canon DSLR and you will notice a different folder number for any images taken on the other camera. That number can be reset from the menu. That count is NOT the shutter count and can not be relied on to show the shutter count, just as the trip meter on a car won't show the true mileage. Do not give out false information please.

The shutter count isn't stored in the EXIF, but it is stored with in the camera and is reset by Canon when replacing the shutter. It is also accessible (but not resettable) by the user with the right software. I have found this has given me the shutter count on every DSLR I have owned....

Who's guide are you referring to? The shutter count on Canon DSLR's is only accessible with some particular software programs. You cannot see it any other way.
