I just read up on the K-S2, it is a nice package, the weather sealing, slightly lighter, wifi remote control built in, and articulating LCD really a lot of helpful features..Mmmmm
The new K-s2 looks like it ticks a lot of my boxes, 20Mp, Wifi and a more compact body
I went from a k20D to a K5ii. Even though the resolution difference isn't much, it's a better camera by miles.Well I'm a happy owner of a new K-s2. I'v very pleased with it so far, the advances over the K10D are remarkable,
Depends on your style of shooting. The K3 sports the best AF and metering systems in the lineup. I don't know if the K-S2 has the same shutter/mirror as the K3/K5, but it is incredibly quiet.and I suspect it gives me most of the real world benefits that the K3!! would provide me.
Pentax has lower cameras in the lineup, so I don't think anyone should consider the K-S2 beginner. If anything, it is a long overdue follow up to the *ist DS.I'm rather bemused that considering its feature set and capabilities the K-S2 is catagorised by some as a beginner's camera (as opposed to the advanced tag on the K3ii). But I guess this is just marketing price engineering.
The 15mm would be a good lens for that body I would think. In fact I recommend anyone considering the K3ii take a serious look at the K-S2 and make an honest appraisal of the features you actually need.
One of the most impressive benefits for me is how compact the camera is with my 50mm prime, or even my old manual M 28mm f3.5. So much so that I'm thinking of getting a 15mm f4 to make a great carry round/climbing combination for the mountains
Take the K5IIs add 25% more resolution, an articulated LCD screen & wifi and you get a K-S2. What's not to like about that?Well I'm a happy owner of a new K-s2.
