I'm particularly interested to hear if the Olympus suffers from shutter shock as the Panasonic does (on some bodies).

Lenses don't suffer from shutter shock. They don't have a shutter. Only a lens-body combo can have such a problem, so if you want to discuss a lens, and shutter shock, you have to say with which body every single time. And make no assumptions that it applies to any other bodies unless specifically tested with the other bodies.

They only tested the Mk I, but as I understand it, the optical design didn't change.

According to this post and link to an article the optical design did change:

I saw that too, but OTOH the Olympus company info shows exactly the same optical layout (with a slight change in labeling of special elements) and exactly the same MTF curves.

I eventually concluded that it is most likely a surface coatings update, and possibly, at most, a minor re-profile of one or two lens elements, unless they have adopted new names for the same lens technologies.

The Tamron had some defects in the coating and so I returned it. I brought three lenses I already owned: the Olympus 12-40, the Panasonic 20, and the Olympus 40-150 f4. The only lens I have used ten days into the trip is the Olympus 12-40.

I have both the old Olympus 14-150 and the new Olympus 14-150II. There is a quite noticeable difference in image quality between the two. The II is quite noticeably better, particularly in keeping sharpness across the image.

There is no way the optics are the same. It is a new lens design for sure.  But the II does have more chromatic aberration in the corners than I would have liked just like the older version.   So I got the EM5II to get the in camera correction of chromatic aberration for JPEGS.   The EM5 lacked that.

How is the AF speed of the 14-150 II lens?
