NX210 to NX300 - any gain ?

I was wondering if there was anything to be gained by changing my NX210 to an NX300 ? . such as AF improvements, maybe any sensor tweaks along the way regarding DR or high ISOs ? (though I don`t want to lose the 210's amazingly weak AA filter) .. I ask as the 500 hits the market, I expect various 300 blowout deals and cheap used ones  .. shame it never came bundled with the 16-50 pancake, I`d like to try one properly .

The nx200 had a deeper buffer compared to nx300 (8 vs 5 pics). The nx300 is a bit faster in operations (but still quite slow by my standards).

The nx300 has probably faster single af, but nx200 was more reliable.

Nx300 has 1080@60fps (nx200 @30). Tiltable screen is nice.

Iq is almost the same.

I have seen NX300M bundled with 16-50 pz for around 400 USD, wouldn't mind getting one on sale...

I don`t like the sound of that - I`ve found the NX1000/1000 and 200/210 to be rock stable for AF, but dumped the NX20 because it was a bit hit and miss for some bizarre reason

I used both the nx300 & nx200 a lot, both were extremely stable. Everything about the nx300 was a little better for me, except the elimination of a usable back wheel that the nx200 had. I shoot manual raw and that did come in handy on the nx200, especially with the non-iFn 30mm lens. I'm glad there is a replacement for it on the nx500

To emphasize this more, of the four nx cameras I have used extensively, the nx300 was the most stable, reliable of them all - for 22 months of almost daily use it never had a hiccup.

I once started a similar thread about upgrading from NX1000 (which I consider to be very similar to NX210) to NX300 - please have a look at it since there were a few useful replies.

I actually had a chance to handle an NX300 and here are my thoughts:

• Overall shot-to-shot speed, AF speed and shutter lag - I felt that NX300 was better than NX1000, but not by a large margin. This is why I didn't decide to upgrade, especially when I found my ways around NX1000 shortcomings. However, I will be upgrading to NX500 because of its new AF system and way better low light behaviour.
• I very much liked the touch screen, it makes focusing (in terms of moving the focusing square around the frame) a breeze.
• I sometimes use manual focusing, thus focus peaking is a welcome addition.
• The ability to define a minimum shutter time in the A mode is quite useful.

I have a similar concern. Any gain from NX200 to nx300/NX3000?

The 210 is basically a better made 1100 with better ergonomics and a better screen - if all the 300 is, is a marginally faster 210 with a flip LCD then I`ll be better off waiting and getting an NX500, I`ll get the 16-50 too (which can be swapped out if its a dud)  ..

I tried a 3000, it`s a big downgrade on the NX1000/1100 IMO, it looked and felt like a Sony Nex-3N with a Samsung sensor and mount (Miserable). the 2000 is more interesting but takes horribly fiddly Micro SD cards and I`m not sure the touch interface was that mature (unless they updated the firmware) .......

the older ones (200/1000/210/1100) are all basically the same camera with or without Posh features and/or Wifi and are superb solid cameras, I was hoping the 300 would be a super fast / improved sensor version

Perhaps my wording was clumsy... There is a difference which can definitely be felt. However, I found NX300 to not be as much of upgrade to NX1000 as I'd wish it to be for the price, i.e. the performance/price ratio wasn't satisfactory to me.

The best way to find out if it works for you would be to handle it in conditions which you normally shoot. Perhaps you'll find the performance satisfactory for your purposes, as many in this forum did.

It`s the size of the NX-Mini which put me off - the sensor maybe "mini" but the body isn`t much smaller than the NX210 and bigger than some M43 stuff (it`s gargantuan compared to the tiny GM1) - I guess it`ll be interesting with the adapter due to the insane crop factor whilst retaining 20Mp giving amazing reach on the telephotos
