NX200 - Sakura Blossoms
5

If weather conditions are favorable, Sakura, cherry blossoms, burst into bloom and die in about a week. If not so favorable, for example, the preceding weather is too hot, too cold, or rainy (they're quite fragile, so will drop off the trees), the blooms won't be so good and you'll have to wait for next year.

This year in northern Taipei, Danshui district, the sakura around the TianYuan Temple last weekend were a sight to see.

The NX200 is still trucking along, but it's showing age already for only three years, the back rotation dial has broken, and the mode-change dial on top intermittently jumps to different shooting modes without touching. It's disappointing to shoot with just these two broken parts, and more so with the slow operation... Of course it's quite compact and lightweight, and the photo quality out of it is still very lovely.

Post-processed using the abstruse SilkyPix 4.0 software (Branded Samsung Raw Converter), a piece of software that definitely has a steep non-intuitive learning curve, but I have gradually come around to and become accustomed to using. The results are quite pleasing, albeit processing on a 10" Atom Netbook is abusing the poor CPU, demanding minutes of 100%-cycle, bricking-the-computer time per photo.

Spongebob came out to see the flowers too
