16-35 F4 LIS review

Very good lens

The AF is fast, IS is good and the price is OK for an L class lens

Highly recommanded

Re: 16-35 F4 LIS review

how wide at its widest is this compared to the new 11-24?

I have looked at the AOV on Canon's website and don't understand , if the new 11-24 is te widest ever, that the diag AOV of the 16-35 is 108 degrees v the 11-24s 126 degrees
Could some kind soul explain to this bear of very small brain

go to the Petapixel site and look at the review of the 11-24  (Sorry I can't give you the link, it's forbidden by the site)

You can see by yourself, the difference between 16 and 11 mm (and other focal length)

Well, 16 is wide and 11 is WI-I-IIIIDE!! (yes you must pronounce all three syllables). You know the quote, "but this one goes to eleven." 'nough said.

Seriously though, check out petapixel and also Google "the digital picture canon 11-24" for an easy mouse-over of 11mm vs. narrower FOV.

For me, when I want that wide, I prefer panos to a single UWA shot. But that's probably because I fear change. ymmv.

Cheers,

GT

Not sure I understand your question, but perhaps a visual reference will help:

http://imaging.nikon.com/lineup/lens/simulator/

The Nikkor one used to be very good, but they've changed it so it's even harder to see the difference.
