The 20-50mm apreciation thread!
3

Good light has come to north Italy and i switched from the 18-55 OIS to my lovely 20-50.

I really like this little cheap lens. It is compact, sharp and with nice colors and has the zoom ring. Also like the way it fits on my NX1100.

So i decided to start this apreciation thread (and maybe we should have one for every lens of samsung!), share some picture and hope that someone else will follow.

This is the first one, very sharp at 24mm (wide open) from edge to edge, with a bit of artifact in the shadow in the bottom right angle due to the fact that i rise a bit the dark zones.

Monza Santa Maria in Strada, 24mm, f3.5, ISO 200, jpg, picture wizard off, light PP on LR

PS: would really like to see pictures of this lens with the NX1!

My favorite kit lens.

Not the best in any one category but number two or three in most, kinda like the Scottie Pippen of lenses. I use my samsung to chase the kids in my family around, but sometimes they make it easy for me.

Supermodel!

Re: My favorite kit lens.

yes, this lens is optically superior but otherwise clumsy - slow focus and no image stabilization. Crazy sharp and free from distortions at leat in wide angle side.

sharp and stable from corner to corner.

When the 30mm isn't wide enough the 20-50mm comes to the rescue.
