Totally Awesome Camera, Highly Recommended for Beginners
4

The first ever DSLR I've purchased in my life is Canon EOS 1200D. I've been using this now and it has been OUTSTANDING. It performs way beyond perfection. It's even better than Nikon's entry-level DSLRs.

You can check out my gallery here: Photographs Captured with Canon EOS 1200D

If you're a beginner and thinking of buying a DSLR, (No matter what the YouTube reviewers are saying) Canon EOS 1200Dis the one you MUST go for. It's truly Amazing!

Farooq, these are very nicely done! Although this is Canon's entry level dslr, I has all the ingredients to give it solid image quality and video. Enjoy your new camera, welcome to this Canon forum, and post more of your images from your country.

Canon - The Best!

Thank you so much dear.

Yes, I'm always updating my Gallery with new shots

By the way, all the credit goes to Canon

You should try shooting in RAW or try HDR.  I think the cityscapes, the mosque, and national park you shot could have really been brought to life with some tweaking of the lighting.  Really bring out those clouds and the buildings.

Actually I shot RAW instead of JPEG

Dear, Thankyou very much for your suggestions. I actually shot these images in RAW format but as I don't know much about post-processing of RAW images, that's why couldn't do tweaking properly

Would you please suggest me some source from where I could learn Lightroom and Photoshop  (or any other software you suggest) in order to post-process my photos???

I'll be very grateful to you

Thanks

Best Regards,

Farooq Abbas Sam

Check out tony and chelsea northrup's books and youtube videos.  If you don't want to spend a whole lot, there are plenty of free youtube video's to look at for beginning lightroom.

Hi Farooq

I have been using DPP for the past few years to tweak my Raw images. Recently I tried LR5. Initially i struggled understanding it but after reading few articles on Google I am finding it much easier to use now.

Here is a link which you might find useful

Farooq,
I'm very glad that you're happy with it, but your review didn't say why, or why it's better than Nikon. Usually, a good review explains what the camera does, and what you like or dislike about it. Your camera, for example, has a flip-out touchscreen, and it would be interesting to see how you like it and how you use it.

The T5 has a stationary LCD and the T5i has flip out screen.

Be happy with your T5.

I had an XTi (400D, very old), have a 6D, and wanted a new APS-C camera - as some kind of backup. Got the T5, since it was cheap and yet capable where it matters for me: IQ. Its sensor always made great images on other cameras, like the 7D and 60D.

The result: sometimes my 6D with 70-200 stays at home, while I bring the T5 with 55-250 with me, since it is very compact (but not so much as the SL1, that I find difficult) and a joy to use.

I bought a 1200D and it produced great pictures, however it is not suitable for use in humid conditions.  I had mine in India for 8 months and it stopped working, when I took it to Cannon they said it was water damaged even though I never it was never exposed to water and treated within the guidelines.  They refused to honour the warranty.  Not such a bargain for an eight month camera.

If you want a camera that is

slower then all it's peers,

has a lower res screen,

a pathetic AF system,

tacky body,

dusty and dated sensor

old slow processor

crappy live view implementation

all to get started with this great hobby

then hey it's your money. But your better off with any other intchangeable lens camera that has some life in it.

I suggest that you start a new thread to ask this question. You should tell us a few goals you have for your camera. Is it only for family photography, do you photograph sports, have you owned an SLR camera before, what is your budget, have you ever studied photography, other cameras you've considered.... things like that.

There is more to photography than just pushing the button.
