GH4 Recording to Atomos Shogun ? Display "burned in" on Shogun Files ??

Greetings -- just received my Shogun - when recording to my GH4 - if display on GH4 is "turned on" all that info gets "burned in" to clips/footage - and is there when clip is imported to Final Cut.

When I turn off GH4 display - the small red icon of the SD card (shows in upper left of GH4 LCD screen) gets burned in to clips on Shogun.  What am I doing wrong ?  Settings to adjust on GH4 or Shogun ?   Have not tried recording to Shogun from GH4 with "no SD card" in GH4 -- yet ?  Anybody out there got any ideas ?  MODERATOR -- Sorry if this is wrong place to post !?

Thanks !

If the GH4 is like my GH3, then you go into the "Custom" menu (the one that has an icon of the wrench without the "C") and select the "Output" option.  You'll find there a suboption called "HDMI Info Display (Rec)" that lets you turn off all of the information overlays on the HDMI output.

In the GH4, it's on pg 4 of the "Motion Picture" menu rather than the "Setup" menu as in the GH3.

I was surprised to see on the same page that the GH4 can apparently record 8-bit 4:2:2 4K video to an external recorder while recording also to memory card (as the usual 4:2:0, I presume). 10-bit 4:2:2, of course only to recorder.

I have a quick and probably very stupid questions regarding this topic.

But it happened to a friend of mine, that during a very important job the display got burned on every footage of the entire day and he cannot repeat the videos, no way.

So there are not many options.. retouch everey single frame but this is almost impossible...

Is there anything else he could do to remove the info from the video?

Thanks in advance.
