Have AMD Radeon HD7550; Need 3D monitor for video editing.

I use a Fuji W3 to capture 3D images and video. I have a Dell I7 system running Windows 7 Home Premium that has an AMD Radeon HD7550 graphics board with 1 gb of memory. I use Power Director editing software.

Can anyone recommend a 3D monitor that will work with this graphics card, including any necessary cables or software?

I have searched this forum, the AMD website and forums, and the Internet without finding any solution. The list of monitors on the AMD site is out of date. Their link to the HD3D setup page is broken. Monitors that say they are 3D invariable state they only work with Nvidea graphics cards. I thought the ASUS VG248QE was going to be an option but the fine print states: 3D playback can only be activated via Dual-link DVI cable connection with a NVIDIA 3D Vision Kit

I've read a passive monitor is best for video editing although I do have active glasses for a Panasonic 3D TV (they are programmable to multiple types of TVs). Unfortunately I can not use the TV for my editing.

I would prefer a 3D monitor in the 22-24" range and prefer under $300. Help!

I used this for a while for 3D editing:

The glasses did not seem quite the same as for normal TV and there was a little crosstalk, so I use it now for gaming.

Now I just use an ordinary passive (LG) TV since you get much bigger screen and the prices have tumbled.. If your graphics card has an HDMI out then there should be no problem.

BTW I am surprised you use the W3 for video - the pix are great on 3D TV but the video is really awful I find.

Re: Have AMD Radeon HD7550; Need 3D monitor for video editing.

I have a 27" ASUS passive 3D monitor and love it for editing--however it's not sold in the US anymore. There are only a few 3D monitors available on the market now and disappearing fast. Look on Amazon or ebay. You might have to get one from South Korea. I tried both the active Nvidia shutterglasses and polarized passive interleaved and found the passive better, though the interleaving does reduce resolution somewhat, especially when viewing still images. However, the Nvidia screens have a vertical grid look that I found displeasing as well. Passive is easier to use and allows others to share your viewing experience as the viewing angle is slightly better.

If you want only a 24" monitor and go the Nvidia shutterglasses route, then I would recommend this monitor:

http://www.amazon.com/VG248QE-24-inch-LED-lit-Monitor-response/dp/B00B2HH7G0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1417284476&sr=8-1&keywords=3D+monitor

If you want to go the passive route, then I've a friend who has this monitor and loves it though it's a 27":

http://www.amazon.com/LG-FLATRON-Monitor-D2743P-BN-Glasses/dp/B009P10UBO/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1417284600&sr=8-3&keywords=3D+monitor

The extra 3" of monitor size makes the 3D more immersive.

That said, I own the W3 and Panasonic 3D1 and rarely use the video on the W3 as it is only 24 frames/sec and the video is awful if you move the camera. The 3D1 isn't much better. If you want good 3D video you need one of the Sony TD10, 20 or 30 models.
