HORROR STORY, HELP!!!!

Just it overheated in North Miami...this was resolved with  OS 4.4.4...and they changed twice the camera and now they exchanged the mainboard and the camera, but the problem persists.

Is a bad combination of the image proccessing approach...

Bad optical image stabilization brings lots of automatic sharpening, artifacts and the awfull automatic tone curve that destroys almost 50% of the detail...and also optical focusing...that means that inside the lens are moving elements.

For 16mp imagine the precision of the movement. Really I didnt got one image really in focus with or without HDR...

They refuse to give the money back...so Ill put it in ebay as soon i receive it again...

My S4 has much better image quality...and I can edit and improve the image...

ONE LESSON IS ENOUGH...

Have you read my posts / articles? The stock Camera app indeed has very bad oversharpening and noise reduction artifacts; this is why I recommend third-party apps. Assuming your device is based on the Snapdragon 805 chipset, that is.

Oversharpening and noise reduction has nothing to do with optical image stabilization, which I've found to be excellent.

If you can't get anything in focus and not even reboots / a full reset (setting up everything from scratch) help, then, your device is indeed a lemon. Get it exchanged.

This is the point:

They refused to exchange or refund because the lack of box.

This is a Samsung Latin America Experience Center dealer, and their policies are different to the USA Samsung Experience Centers (they exchange or refund)  but this is not warned to the clients...

By the way, can you tell me what third party apps can be used, pls? I´ll appreciate very much.

For example, Snap camera HDR. Again, I heavily recommend my articles.

I bought the Note 4 SM N910 H in the Samsung boot at Dolphin Mall (E318), FL, paid us$908.00 for it. IMEI 355051060228560 and SN RF1FA0G7TXM two days after the USA release.

After 4 days unpacked the phone and begun shooting in Atlanta (where the box was discarded), Denver where I opened the files and realized that no one of the images was in focus NO ONE, and by the way was overheatting. The same day stopped to use it.

After a last stop in Seattle... I returned to FL 14 days later and complained at the SAMSUNG boot to exchange the phone or my money back.

Their answer -bring the box and we exchange you the phone- this is the company policy.

I asked them where in the bill said that, they showed me the bill and certainly is like that BUT that day the printer oh! was faulty and didnt print that part....HOW?

I'm a traveller, I'm not going across the full country with a box!!!

They sent me to their repair center for a warranty claim.

Expected to find a real repair center, was a Metro PCS shop and in the back a repair office 100 sq ft.

NOT AN AUTHORIZED SAMSUNG SERVICE!!!! Tried to contact Samsung customer service IMPOSSIBLE, the story of the chicken and the egg, who was first, full of their product advertisement  but never a human being, nobody is responsible....

Left the phone there and they said that may be one of those days the part will arrive and they will let me know when...no date no nothing that everything has to go by the Samsung procedures.

Asked and what IF is not good again, their answer is we dont know...

SO BEWARE OF THE SAMSUNG PROMISED PARADISE, Now Im not in USA for a couple of weeks and who knows how this story will enD.

Remember I didn't bought the cheapest of the line, but the more expensive of all their phones, and they dont care...

I bought a new Note 4 in July. About a month later the rear camera stopped focusing. Took it back to AT&T. They gave me paperwork to fill out, sent me a refurbished "like new "phone. Sent the old one back. For what I paid it would have been nice to have a new one, since that's what I paid for and it was their fault. The refurbished one seems ok though. Good luck with yours.

This is a 3-1/2 year old thread.  I suspect the OP has solved the problem, and is very likely using something newer than a Note 4.
