SX50 Sunset: what setting do I need to.....

.....make the church, tree to be like a silhouette while still keep the sky color and background highlight straight out from the camera?

I know it can be done in PP with PS or other software. However I'd like to know if any camera setting that can be done to reduce much PP later.

Thanks in advance

Le

Beautiful sunset colours.

Use spot metering on the sky. You have it on Evaluative (whole of scene metering).

Mario,

Thank you for pointing that out. I tried it next time.

To enhance sunsets, I set exposure compensation to -1/3, and then set White Balance to Cloudy.  That gives richer colors and enhances the reds and yellows.  It also works very well for fall colors in the trees.

Thank you very much for the tips, Jerry. I'll keep that in mind.

On mine I use TV mode and set shutter speed to 500 and use ISO on Auto on sunsets and sunrise.

When it gets brighter I will re-set ISO down to 100.

Thank you, Frizzen. I'll try your setting sometime. I haven't shot much in Tv mode as I still learning and struggle to find the correct exposure.

I think it an excellent image, as composition and colors! So you're a skillful photographer not only with our Solar System

Thank you, Augustin. So far I have more "delete" pictures than "keeper" but I'm having fun with the SX50. I've learned a lot from you guys/gals here.
