So I finally picked up the 60mm a couple of months ago and took it to Japan in August. I thought I'd post some photos and thoughts about the lens and using it. Hopefully it will be of interest to anyone considering this lens!
I had an NX20 and NX30 and I was either using the 60mm on one and the 12-24 on the other, or swapping the 16/30/60 primes on one body. I think the latter combination works really well in terms of focal length and all are pretty good quality lenses (to my eyes at least), so I'm planning to get used to the fixed focal length and work with these three more, rather than relying on the 12-24 so much.
So here are a few photos from Nara, where I tried the 60mm at photographing deer:

Fortunately these deer were extremely tame, so long focal lengths weren't necessary - in fact, here's a shot at 12mm

I was very impressed with the sharpness of the 60mm, individual eyelashes can be seen in the shot below, viewed at 100%

Not being used to wide apertures at longer focal lengths, I was surprised by how little depth of field you get. This won't be news to most of you, but I found it quite tricky sometimes to get the focus I was looking for. I think the DOF in this shot worked reasonably well:

but these two for example could probably have been improved by more depth of field:

(In this case I had the focus point on the baby deer, I probably should have focused on the adult in the foreground, with a sufficiently narrow aperture to also include the baby in focus)

Not sure about this one. If I had more time I would have tried to get the girl in photo as well, but by the time I'd changed the settings, both subjects had moved on...
I'm inclined to think that I really have no use for more shallow depth of field than I have already. With this removed as a significant factor, and sensors getting better every year, I really don't think I'll ever need to "upgrade" to full frame.
I found the slow focus speed a little annoying on a few occasions, although things improved once I got used to it. With a subject moving towards (or away from) the camera, focus came a little slower than I would have liked:

It also took me a while to get used to the fixed focal length, so some compositions are a bit tighter than I would normally do. ("Zoom with your feet" is a lot easier with a wider prime, I find.)

On the whole I'm really happy with the lens. It also feels solidly built and well constructed. I haven't used the macro capabilities much yet, but that might come in handy at some point. Only negative is the relatively slow focusing - I tried to take some street photography in Tokyo, but it was a bit painful, I understand now why so many of you want the 45mm as well!
Rather than start another thread, here are some other photos of Nara, with the 12-24mm. C&C always welcome on all my shots, with a load more over on google plus if anyone is interested.
