Question: Powershot SX40 vignette

Hello.

I have been using a SX40 for 2 years now.

Great camera, better than SX60 in my opinion...

The only thing:

In the mid-tele and tele I have a huge vignette at the corners.

Do you know how to avoid it ?

What's the reason for the vignette ?

Thanks for you help!

Re: Question: Powershot SX40 vignette

You don't have a lens hood on it, right?

Do you have a lens hood attached? That could be the culprit. Try with and without it and see if the vignettes disappear.

Re: Question: Powershot SX40 vignette

A proper Canon lens hood would not cause vignetting.  Most likely a filter adapter attached but even here it would only be a problem at wide zoom settings.  If nothing is attached has this been a problem in the past or did it happen recently?  My 40 has had this happen once or twice for no appearent reason.  Perhaps it"s trying to say " Time for an SX60"

Re: Question: Powershot SX40 vignette

Hi.

Thanks for your answer. Sorry for my late reply.

No, there is noch lens hood on.

It may be a problem with the SX40 ? I saw some other photos of the cam with the same problem ... ?
