Gluing IR Cut Filter To Lens

I need to glue an ir cut filter to an M12 lens. The bezel is like .5mm so I'm not going to need much glue but I need it to be strong and not run onto the filter.

Any tips of what type of glue to use?

Thanks

I might try a silicone sealant. It is removable once dry (in case) - I'd avoid having any under/behind the filter as there will be evaporation from the drying material and you may end up with condensation on lens. I have used this to fix cut down glasses lenses in tubes and devices and it worked well enough.

Thanks for the advice. I don't want condensation. I'll seal it from the sides.

Is this a threaded filter:

If so how about Loctite threadlocker.

Comes commonly in two versions:

Blue - filter will be able to be removed with the help of some tool

Red -  it ain't coming off.

a little dab will do ya.

It's just called "glass glue" and you'll have to look in the description for if it works for glass to metal and if it dries clear. Just place the lens to the metal and put some glue around the edge.

Re: Gluing IR Cut Filter To Lens

I only had luck using the liquidly glass-to-metal glue once. You should use the epoxy style glue that isn't liquidy like super glue. The second time I tried it the glue got all over the lens and IR cut filter and it was blurry. You can use that type of glue but you have to use a paint brush to get just a very small amount on 4 corners of the flange. I tried putting the glue on some plastic and rubbing it to make it thin, then transferring the glue to the metal flange of the lens but it was still too much glue. You're gong to have to use a very very small amount on 3 corners of the lens then don't push hard on the lens to force the glue to be uniform because that will cause the glue to go onto the glass lens.
