ultraviolet photography

Hello,

I would like to ask you about some advice regarding the images below : I would like to try and test how to achieve similar effect like on the image bellow?

Can you tell me how do you think is done? with ultraviolet filter?

can I achieve that with digital camera canon 5d markIII?

I appreciate every opinion!

Re: ultraviolet photography

You would have to have the UV/IR blocking filter removed from the image sensor, use black light illumination, and possibly use a UV pass filter to block all visible and IR light.  You might also have to get a special lens since normal glass does a pretty good job of blocking UV light.

In addition to modified camera, a special lens is needed...

The following video should explain everything:

But the basics besides a modified camera and UV light source is a special lens that has quartz optics instead of glass optics. The video gives suggestions.
