Re: new gallery "organic matters"

Finally found the time to look, beautiful gallery of images deep and simple at the same time. Also the site is very elegant, knowing that it s all "homemade" make the whole stuff even more interesting.

I'ts been my privilege to visit your new portfolio. It was a wonderful start to my day. Thanks.

Jim, took the words right out of my mouth!

Claudio, it was a pleasure to view your entire set of images all taken with simple Sigma cameras.

You made my day too!

many thanks Marco, yes the site is homemade by a non-professional developer, myself, with the advantages and (a lot of) disadvantages of this approach, but... at the end, for me, is not so bad

All Sigma, or are you using various cameras ?

I realized that my previous reply did not address your question

the gallery "irrelevances" has been realized with a Nikon D40

the great majority of all the other photos come from my DP1S and DP2 but there are also few photos coming from the D40

thanks again

Re: Pictures like these made me buy a camera in the first place....

I am not sure if I ever end up with a portfolio like yours or the ones you granted links to. But pictures like these made me buy a camera so many years ago. I wanted to capture impressive moments or landscapes or colors and shapes. Picture which talk to me on an emotional base.

As you may guess from my comment, I really like your portfolio.

thanks, even though I think that the linked photographers have a much much higher level (both technically and photographically)

I started to photograph a long time ago, but I started to put "things together" when I moved to the mountain area where I live now (and I started to "study" a lot of photographic books)
now I know quite well this area, I know single stones and trees, but the light/weather conditions are so different that every time is a new exploration, and I enjoy and enjoy...

It looks good to me.

The advantage of being able to change the site whenever you want outweighs all the disadvantages.
