You're a bit late to the party. Looks like the OP has left the building.

BB

funny, I just checked the dates, it is indeed years old

I don’t know how this popped out in my computer

I don’t navigate more than a page back.?!

thanks for update!

That's ok, your opinion is still appreciated.

I have the Sigma 150-600, but the C version. I'm interested in how it will play with the 5D4, which I plan to buy this spring or summer.

BB,

i use the 150-600 Sig C on the 5 D4 and it plays very well.

Indeed it does! A wonderful photo collection you have.

David, I see you have used a variety of cameras & lenses. Do you have a favorite for air show photography?

Lately, I've been using the 80D for aviation and have been pleased with the results. It especially works well with my Canon 300 f2.8 II and 2x combo.

Hi BB,

Thanks for that.

As much as I'd like to get to air shows, my current commitments make it difficult.  The last show I attended was the Reno Air Races over a year ago... not really a show.  I left very disappointed, as they had pushed the bleachers so far back because of a fatal crash several years ago.  That made it very difficult to fill the frame with a 100-400 ll, 7Dll and 1D4.

For the next show, I'll take the 400 DO ll with 1.4 lll on a 5D4 with the Sig 150-600 C on another 5D4... to be on the safe side.

I sold off my crops, but planning on picking up the 7D3 when released.  No hurry.

I haven't had the pleasure of visiting India yet but it is high on my list of places to visit. I mostly photograph birds but will definitely take advantage of any opportunity to photograph nature that presents itself.  My setup is a 500mm f/4 and 1.4x TC along with a 100-400 lens.  I always carry two bodies because it has been my experience that when they fail on me it is always when I'm on an expensive trip and not when I am photographing locally.

best of luck!
