Took a few shots and thought I would share. Feedback would be appreciated as I am newer to photography. These were taken in raw, edited in lightroom, and exported as jpegs.

I like the photo of the logs a lot! I'm no professional by a long shot, so this is just my personal opinion: I would brighten shadows a bit more on the landscape photos--the dark areas are really quite dark.

Beautiful scenery & nice photos. The WB in the first looks a little off; since you shot raw that is very easy to adjust. It's been a while since I used my 18-55mm, but if I remember correctly on mine if I zoom the focal length just a little the edges start to sharpen nicely. Lenses vary so I would experiment with that when you don't need to be at your absolute widest.

Also experiment with the processing and see if it looks better to you if you lift the shadows some in the first two; but don't get too carried away just for the sake of seeing more detail there.

I also saw your night shots in the other forum - looks like your having fun. Keep trying different ways to shoot - you will learn quickly.

That is interesting that mention shadows because in lightroom I took the shadow bar as far as it would go to remove shadows. I could of been shooting too dark maybe, but I took about a half dozen photos with different settings at that exact spot as the one shown is the best. Another possibility is that I have the black-clipping too strong. Or it could be possible that I like more contrast as preference.

I appreciate the kind sentiment greatly. I have not been playing with white balance at all yet. Maybe it is time to start looking at that.

Also, you mention a zoom. I can not find get zoom to work although it supposedly has a digital zoom in lense mode. I assume you are talking about focal length more specifically though which I am not 100% familiar with yet.

Again, I did remove the shadows as much as I could so it is probably another issue with how I shot it or edited it as mentioned earlier.

I am playing with this camera quite a bit. Anytime I am going somewhere I expect to possibly be scenic I take the camera. When I shoot I take at least 5 shots with different settings to how the effect the photo.

I don't use Lightroom enough, but in Photoshop Elements, you can repeat the process. Here's my rendition to show what I meant about lifting shadows more (adjusted colors too):

And here it is lightened and with your original colors:
