I spent a weekend on the Wadden Islands
10

We (me and my family) spent a weekend on Terschelling, an island in the Wadden Islands Arpelaggio in the North of the Netherlands. The Waddden See is a Unesco Natural Heritage Site.

Had some fun with the dp2x and dp1s.

Cheers and have fun, too.

Those are great, especially excellent use of the DP1!

Very good Summer holiday mood. Something to remember on the long winter nights.

The first picture of the kids on the skyline (with a bit of fence) makes a good pair with the one of three gulls. You could frame them and hang them side by side.

Thanks Kendall. Due to the field of view of the DP1, you are forced to go close, or/and to think about the dynamics that go with the perspective of the such wide angle. I find it little bit harder than framing with the dp2, but if it is good, it will be rewarding.

That's nice, Bob. A little story, a room to interpretation, that's often what I'm looking for in my photography. Both in family snaps or 'street like' photos. But of course, sometimes, the beauty of the final image is enough. Although, after such shots, I feel them to be a bit pointless

Thank you. The one with the fence and the children felt immediately good. But I struggled with the color balance (green/blue of landscape vs yellow/red tones of skin color).  I'm still not completely satisfied.

Of course, I ment...

... archipel, not arpellaggio. What kind of word is that anyway?

It looks just right on my monitor. Slightly cool, and that suits a day with so much blue sky. I don't think you have to worry about the skin tones -- if it was a close up portrait you would want them warmer, but here they harmonise with the wide spaces of the Summer air.

Archipelago is the word (in English anyway).

Not Arpeggio.

....I meant, haha.

My English is far from perfect. But thanks for your explanation. By the way... I also play a musical instrument. I think I mixed up two words😁

Daniel,

Nice holiday portfolio with DPs/x series

I found the easy way to correcct green cast from my DPs;

just use a green fringe slider in SPP, play with the range and intensity; you can move, with the mouse, the range indicator over colour spectrum bar to find the best result
