Is there still love for NX11?

I've been shooting film for the past years, but realized that I have no more time for that and decided to jump into the digital train. While seeking a proper tool to practice the craft, I run into a white NX11 with 1855 kit lens for ridiculous price, 80 euros. There were some scratches in the display and charger was missing, but on the other hand only 3400 shots were fired and everything worked. What's more, our local electricity dealer was selling new 20/2.8 pancakes for 95 euros. Universal charger for 20 euros took care about that problem. After few test shots, I'd say that it is a lot of camera for that price. Anybody else still with NX11?

Yes.

Still use the NX10 as primary camera (which is the same hardware except for the grip). Combinded with one of the pencake lenses it is still a very capable and portable tool. Enjoy it!

NX10 is my primary as well. I also got it for a very low price (£65 second hand) but it has no faults so far. I mainly use the lovely 30mm but also 16mm and 20-50mm. Sometimes I wish for faster autofocus, better dynamic range and high ISO performance but for the money I paid I am certainly not complaining and it performs extremely well I think.

I also bought my NX11 just recently in beautiful condition with only a few scratches on the screen. On eBay I paid 136 euros for it - and even I thought that was a good deal. It came in the original box with everything included except the 20mm as the previous owner decided to keep that lens. It was originally a two lens kit which also included the 18-55mm. I haven't got around to shoot with it, but I hope I will soon and I've bought the 85mm (new) specifically for use with the NX11. Enjoy yours!

Good catch; your NX11 sounds like a good bargain.

Here's another thread on a topic similar to yours.

There's a lot to like about the NX11, despite its age.  But be aware that finding spare-parts for any older cameras can be tricky.  Also, the NX11's sensor is a little outdated, so newer models like the NX20 or NX30 will outclass it IQ-wise.

I have the NX10 and really love it, good quality photos, and with the 20mm a great camera for travel.

You got a bargain!

How was your experience with updating the firmware to that of the NX11? Do you feel it was worth it?

NB: for those who don't know, the NX10 can be updated to have the firmware of the NX11, bringing some new features.

The actual update was easy and straightforward, was it worth it? I think so.

cheers

It's still great camera. Here NX5 + 16-50 f2

NX5/10/11 has very nice output. Nice reds and blues.

Here few samples of the unusual combo NX5 and 16-50 f2-2.8, full size. Difficult conditions, direct sunlight, high contrast but camera holds very well, with only shadow iso being an issue.

NX11 has much higher usability. For 80euros I would buy it myself.

Thanks for this info, never heard of this town before but it sure seems worth a visit. I really should travel to Poland within the next years -  there are a lot of beautiful towns.

The NX11 - I still use it and the NX10 I still use, too. However I have an NX20 and now sometimes miss the articulated display. Somehow I think the NX11 feels more sturdy and mature than the NX20.

In Austria I never found a NX11 at a bargain price - for less than 100€ a body it sure is a must buy.

The NX11 is the camera which made me fall in love with Samsung.  It is a fine camera.  Granted the new camera (NX30) is better in most ways (faster focus, more dynamic range from RAW files, faster processor, WiFi/NFC, articulated screen, better video, etc), the NX11 still has charm and you can get them really cheap as you know.

Any of the new lenses can work with the NX11, which makes it appealing if you want to upgrade lenses while waiting for a different body.  Just keep in mind it is a bit like buying a Nikon D80 or maybe D90 and comparing it to current Nikon cameras.  Big changes in technology, but still takes good photos.

Nice to see thar there are so many friends on NX11. Yes, I know it is not NX30 but for the price.... I like the ergonomics very much, and after few days it feels very intuitive to use. The kit lens was also a positive surprise, clearly above average. With tilting screen and wifi it would be perfect. My wife's ST200F has wifi and it's very handy for daily snapshots with tablet and Snapseed.

Hi

I purchased my NX10 in 2010 and still use it now. Great camera and with the NX11 firmware even better.

Here is a photo from a ( Trash the Dress ) photo-shoot I did in 2010.

Glad you like your NX11.
