Hey there fellow creators

so I am moving forward.... really slowly thanks to my 3d printer which is the most imprecise sob. It is killing me that I have to try so hard. with this one i printed I have to sand .5 mms tomorrow because it is .5 mms off in the z axis (flange focal distance)

I had to abandon a couple of ideas because of it:

no modular two part system.

no thread (my lenses are too heavy anyways so there will be a plate on the rig to hold both (I will use it for videos mainly)

If you want the 3d files I would gladly send them. contact me on instagram: tandoganbaris

I need this camera to film for a university project in the next semester so hopefully till then i am done with all this

You need to learn a few tricks for 3D printing....

Beyond calibrating your printer, here's a big trick: Threads are easy, but not with the standard 30-degree metric angle. Basically, 30 is too shallow to be self supporting. Use a 45-degree angle on the underside (while still staying within the standard metric thread dimensions) and printing even 0.75mm-pitch threads with 0.25mm extrusion height is a piece of cake.

For example, take a look at how the threads are done in my Thingiverse OpenSCAD/Customizer code for making filters that fit standard threads.

You know the moment when you are too deep into smt and theres no return. I am at that point right now. So after getting really, I mean really, frustrated with the connection issue of the two pins I did this

I did some soldering

and I kinda got the flange distance issue solved (well not in practice but in theory i know the problem now) and then connected my super sweet switar lens onto the camera

this lens is a beauty

then I checked the flange distance again and I know how much i need to change it (about .1 mm)

here are two photos I took with it

I love how the edges are not sharp at f1.4. I definitely recommend switar lenses to all c mount lovers

thats about 15 meters away but on the lens its 5 meters so i need to increase the flange distance about .1mm

after getting everything right ill get into the thread issue. So far I am really happy with this and the soldering thing is not really a problem as I will never use that terrible nx mini lens again anyways. And I have about 27 cameras so nx mini is not of priority or importance. I just wanna use it for filming because it is the only camera I have that can accept the image circle of c mount. All my other cameras are either full frame or medium format

I got a couple NX MINI to C adapters from Ramir73 on Ebay. The first one I got(~40$) was pretty solid. I did have trouble achieving infinity with some older C mount lenses like Angenieux 25/0.95 as well as Navitron/Navitar newer lenses. Anna who runs the page was actually really kind to send me a 2nd adapter free of charge with thinner adapter(which is technically thinner than the ~17.5mm flange necessary for c mount lenses to allow for more room to hit infinity. So if anyone wants to play around I highly recommend it.

I am a bit disappointed I can't use flash in manual mode with my C mount lenses. Nikon1 J5 is better in this regard.

Here's a solid picture I took with my Nikon Nikkor 50mm f1.4 Non-AI lens using Fotasy Nikon F to C adapter plus C to NX Mini adapter I got from Ramir73 on Ebay.

The second image was taken with 3 C mount extenders where I had to get just a few inches from the flower/bee.

With 3 extenders.

Wedding/engagement photographer.

Same 2 adapter combo and lens for both as previous post.

Re: Samsung NX Mini can shoot without lens by pin connection

Dear Epoca, it’s a very practical point. Would tell how you connected the pins? Did you use wires or something else? I have a NX Mini and need to use it without its lens to connect it to my telescope.

Is there any way to trigger flash with an adapter?

Would it be 2nd plus 11th pin and some other?
