Canon 70-200mm L F4 IS USM is allowed into the Stadium of MLB/NBA/NFL??

Hello this is JIM from TAIWAN

As the suject i will go to CA watch some Pro ball game

MLB (OAK A’S SF GIANTS LA DOGERS)

NFL(SD CHARGERS OAK RAIDERS)

NBA (LA LAKERS LA CLIPPERS)

It’s my dream to watch those ball game and i would like to take pics and write in my blog for sharing experience

I will bring the equipment 5D3+7D 17-40mm 24-70mm 70-200mm f4 L IS USM

But when i check the rule of CAMERA (A-Z GUIDE in official site ) cameras with a telephoto lens longer than 6 inches will not be permitted into the stadium

Staple Center is 3inches ----that we can’t bring any DSLR even with small fixed focal lens

I heard said that someone hide the lens in jacket or in the bottom of backpacks .... Do you have another way or better idea

Could you share the experience of those stadium if i could bring the 70-200mm f4

And one more question 5d3+70-200mm 7D+70-200mm which one’s quality is better??

Thank you for sharing your PRECIOUS EXPERIENCE

I go to AT&T Park (SF Giants) all the time and have never had a problem with a DSLR - either a 7D or a 5DII.  I take the 70-300mm L (and the 10-22 or 24-105) and they've never even looked twice when I open my bag.  They just want to make sure you don't have alcohol.  I've seen people with 100-400's in there.  I don't know about the other ballparks or arenas - I'm guessing arenas might be more stringent.

I got grief going to an Angels game with just my 24-105 with the lady saying it extended past 6" but her boss let me in with it when I pushed back. I'd pick up a 200/2.8 II with a couple of TCs: 1.4 and 2.0. Keep the TCs separate when you walk in maybe have a friend carry the TCs. Rent them if owning doesn't make sence for you after the trip.

NBA, the Nuggets games in Denver they don't allow any DSLR that can record video last game I went to at least.  So read the Stadium policy before each game.
