Have you taken the same photos with previous cameras, your example didn't show anything clear about the same conditions (bright light sources in or near the frame)

Mike, look at 2 and 3. They are the same light conditions--darkish indoor light with bright light at the left side of the frame.

Joe, they aren't the same photo. Flare is an odd beastie. I'm with the group that thinks you have a flare problem, not a camera problem (though I suppose it could be a flare on the sensor's cover glass),

One other thought looking at your k20d shot it shows heavy artificial light though the k20d has WB'd to daylight hence natural light appears clear but the whole image is badly underexposed and has a red tinge to it.

If the heavy artificial lighting is present in the k5iis shot then it pretty obvious the camera has balanced to it as there is no cast , hence any natural light will have a blue haze except where over exposed where it will be white.

I'd go further and state it looks like the image has had it exposure altered such that the oculus was just not clipped even though in the taken image it already was, This will lead to colour shifts in and of itself.

Do you have the raw ? or was this how the camera chose to process.?

The 16-45 is known to have quite some CA, it can be lateral CA in this case. Als you exposed the - probably rather dark - inside correctly, this means that the hole is largely overexposed. ISO 2200 might help spreading it further. Also dusty air may help this. What was the color temperature of the light inside ? If incandescent inside light was corrected, then natural light from outside will be blue/purple. I don't think it's a camera issue, and even if it is I cannot think of any 'repair' action.
