The girl backs to the tunnel - or can I say "The girl in a corner"?

This photo is heartbreaking and almost scary by its internal tension.

I was photographing the tunnel and saw her. I couldn't resist taking her photo. So much somberness and mood. I wanted to hug her and say everything is OK. Sometimes one gets lucky to find such an image in front of you.

The visage of that girl also shows beyond an infinite weariness a superb dignity. Nothing is lost.

Wonderfully artistic and greatly skilled photos Joe. The most thought provoking set I have seen in quite a while!!!! Damn  I wish I could see this stuff and capture it like you can.

More wonderful pics. just for fun, I put the girl by the tunnel up on my 27" iMac at what DPREVIEW says is 75%. It looks great and measures out to an 18x12 print. At 100% I can't see the whole pic and what I can see measures out at 22x18. Show that to the pixel peepers who think the 1 system can't produce good results.

Happy to share these images and thanks for the great comments. What a contrast walking in the forest and mountains outside of Tokyo versus the busy streets of the city.

Regarding the tunnel girl, there were many things that fell into place to make that photo happen. It makes me think of all the fleeting moments that occur everywhere, all the time that are lost forever.

Joe, two small technical questions after reviewing your photos of Tokyo on the Eizo, and without asking your covert cookery.

1 / Does the 32mm vignette "spontaneously" at 1.2 and 2.4?

2 / 6.7-13 appears to have limited coverage at 6.7, with corners rather fuzzy?

Good questions. There is vignetting on the 32 at 1.2 but is easily removed in Lightroom. I often add vignetting for dramatic effect. Although I have not tested the 6.7, there seems to be no fuzziness in the corners. Perhaps if I pixel peeped more I would see it.

The Girl with the Tunnel in Background....very moody...i'd say if it was a strong b&w photograph, even more somberness...and dark...like these kind of images, but all are great, thanks for showing.
