I still have my Q and 02 and 06, but it is getting very little use since getting the MX-1. The MX-1 lens is so good it completely outclassed the 02, in my opinion the weakest link in the Q system. If Pentax would only fix the 02 to make it better at long end, I would consider getting the Q7.

The other day i was 'shocked' ; ) to find out that the Q7 is not only a diferent design witch i knew/noticed but its also bigger! not to mention the mx-1, i carry the Q all day with me either in a backpack or on my neck under a jacket and i even forget its there! im not saying the mx1 is a huge diference but the original Q and 01 lens combo is so discreet/inconspicious and because is so straight forward to use im having so much fun experimenting with, wich is taking pics and at the end of the day thats what matters right? not if lens X is better than Y : )

@ f4 focus somewhere on the dolls and still plenty dof to see other details ; )

@ f8 focus somewhere on the gentleman's arm and way beyond where most people claims diffraction starts to kick in on the Q, but hey it still takes pics! : D

I will forever love the Q. I just wish Pentax had done two very fast primes (F1.0 or faster even). I would have never left the Q7 if that was the case but I will keep the Q because the build and everything is just classic.

You are right, with 01 the Q is much smaller then with 02. In my case, Q with 02 is not smaller overall then MX-1. There is no denying the Q fun factor, it is a superb small camera, I just wish the 02 lens performs better, so my shots with it have less of a small sensor P&S camera look. Maybe I just have to get 01 and use it like that.

Just classic you nailed it, myself never handled any other Q's variants but this one just feels so right and the shape is bound to be iconic.

Now you have posted a great set of varied shots (past or not ; )) showcasing the Q performance, but these particular 3 are something else, to me they're just amazing and a proof that it doesnt matter wich camera you have if you can make a meaningful capture like these. curious that these were all taken with the 06 at the long end. a lens i have made many pics with but i've always used it mostly at the wider set, perhaps because i was already so used to use 01 lens (had it at least 6 months before the 06). its also for me more dificult to use for street. here are 2 examples at the long end that i've enjoyed take

Thanks for the look & words. I like the 2nd shot you got there.

As for the 06 lens at tele- yes, I am a telephoto street photographer. Apparently most street photographers are on the wider end. It took me a while but found Saul Leiter as a street photographer that loves tele also.

Some people say it becomes "voyeuristic" but I am going to disagree. For me it becomes a bit more objective while describing in more "Painted perspective" terms.

Yes, the 06 eventually became my favorite Q lens, though I still like the 01.

If I was a wide angle street photographer I would just have kept/keep using the Ricoh GR which is the most perfect camera I have ever used for street photography. It's just that I am not a wide angle photographer.

Too many photos to post! What to choose? What to choose?
