Petzval lens, any views?

DPreview published a piece on the Petzval lens. Any views? If it were available in Pentax K-mount, I'd be sorely tempted.

Is it going to come in Fisher Price mount?

Sorry, don't get the whole Lomo thing.

I like the second page of their "review" better.

At least it is something unique, something to distinguish your portraits from billions of others. If I were a wedding photog, I would think hard about having this thing (in black, with removed aperture and taped-over aperture slit) as my portrait lens, in addition to standard 24-70/2.8 and 70-200/2.8.

It's interesting lens for sure. I don't get the people who want their lens to look like everyone elses lens so they can look more sterile and even more generic, while taking their very generic photos too...

It has lots of character for sure. You could see if you can adopt the nikon mount to pentax.

I prefer to put creativity into my images myself rather than relying on having a deliberately crap lens do it for me.

I'll take the liberty...

of repeating my post in the News section.

Kit 18-55mm with old 1.7X adaptor screwed onto it

Just as adjustable and I reckon, an easier on the eye result.
Really can't see the point of paying for a downgrading lens.
