I dont actually own one, However I have spent a half day of Photo walk with it and I was amazed by the light weight, The Saturation, the Detail this camera Offers.
PROS:
Light Weight!!!
Works Well with Olympus 5-axis Image Stabilization
Great Detail even at the longest Zoom.
It is more than I expected. it blew me away, And this is a good sign.
There is no Lens Crepe, because the Zoom Ring is so stiff.
CONS:
Feels like Plasticky.
Extends to a very long lens

As noted previously, the forthcoming 40-150/2.8 PRO is going to have to be very special to justify its (alleged) 10x price

I dunno ... Having a 150mm f/2.8 lens can be rather special.

Love the shot of the Tucan!

I have to agree, this lens is wonderful and it's a steal at the price. I've often gone out shooting with a companion who is using the Canon 70-300L (a lens I have always been fond of) and I was shocked when I compared the photographs and saw just how good the little Oly is. It stands up well in big company.

At the same F stop is compares well with my old Nikon 80-200 f2.8 2 ring - which was the bread and butter lens for many photographers (of course it weighs just a little more). Even if I didn't use the focal lengths I'd have one always with me. This is not a lens for the jungles of the amazon or the frozen arctic but works very well in most places.

The folks here who go off topic and make it personal are what gives DPR its less than stellar reputation on other forums. Most people like what they own, and if you don't you've spend your money badly.

Good as the m43 40-150 is, the 43 50-200 (which stays f/2.8 to 100mm, and drops to a trivial f/3 at 150) is noticeably better.  So the new 40-150 will be squeezed from both ends, competing with the old one with better speed and quality, and the 50-200 with better size weight and maybe AF, all the while justifying the price.

To think I paid $100.00 for mine. The low cost is one of its pros and makes the lens all the more amazing regarding value.

The high quality at unbelievably low cost is not news on this Forum.  If you just bought it new, however, it is nice to hear that quality is being maintained.

It will be as good as the 12-40, meaning it will be worth the difference. The 35-100mm f2.8 Panasonic at the same price difference is easily that much better in the 40-100mm range.

The 40-150mm f4-5.6 is an excellent $99 lens (what I paid for it).

It's a very good $150 lens.

At any price beyond that, someone else can buy it.

That's a pretty impressive set of pictures.  Any idea how this Olly compares with the Panny 45-150mm?

The 40-150 is really amazing for the price.  My wife was the first to buy one.  I thought, plasticy kit lens, it will probably be OK for her.  Well when I saw the pictures she was getting with it, I had to have one, and at US$120, it's a no-brainer.   Remember, this lens is the equivalent of an 80 - 300 on a full frame.  Try finding that lens for $120.  It is not as sharp as the 45 f1.8, but then, not many lenses are.  But it is more versatile.

One of the best $114 I've ever spent for a lens.  As other have said, light and sharp.  Makes me very reluctant to buy the f/2.8 PRO version of this zoom.

Same here.  Besides price it also wins on weight/size.  It is the only micro four thirds telephoto that is truly tiny.   I understand that at 150mm 2.8 is really great, but it comes at the cost of being 4 times heavier.

I had the most fun Tracking Sports Bike.
As soon as I frame, I half press and the focus locks... I fell like the best Sharp Shooter.
Spine tingling Feeling.
I am crying with joy earlier.

Note:
Somebody already ask is this new new 40-150mm F2.8 Pro.

The Answer is, I don't have the money. And it is not yet out here in Malaysia.

Pol is now my hero.
